Jade necklace and earrings

Jade necklace and earrings

15.11.18 04:39-04:41 She is lying on her right side, asleep but aware of the energy now moving swiftly through her torso to her head. Within a few seconds, she feels herself at the front door of 27 Melville Street, her hand reaching out to knock. The door is solid to the touch and soon opened by Isabella, today wearing a knee-length maroon dress, trimmed at the upper arms. She says she has been expecting April, and welcomes her in, guiding her along the hallway to the fourth room on the right, which turns out to be the lounge. She offers a seat and some food, but April is content for just a cup of lemon balm tea. After this, Isabella excuses herself upstairs but soon returns carrying a battered wooden box. I have something the colour of your birthstone for you. Sorry the box is a bit old. April takes the box and carefully opens it. Inside there is an ornate green necklace and a matching pair of earrings. Isabella takes the necklace. Here, let me help you put this on. April fixes the earrings herself as Isabella explains. These are from my mother, but I don’t really wear them very often, so better I give to you. She stands back and smiles. Oh, they really suit you! April wakes as the thunder starts to roll off nearby West Coast. For a second, as she lies in bed, she thinks the jewellery is still with her and reflexively touches her neck and ears. But both are now gone, although Isabella’s gesture remains.

Kilnside House, Paisley

Kilnside House, Paisley
03.11.18 03:18-03:23 Early this morning, she is lying on her right-hand side, legs slightly curled up towards her body. There are no sensations of energy movement this time, possibly because of her non-supine body posture. A real-world flash of lightning alerts her of her sleeping condition, but crucially she neither moves her body nor opens her eyes. As she wakes non-physically, Robert Fullerton is standing there, waiting expectantly on a suburban path. They greet each other and embrace, before he takes her by the hand. Now that you’re here, I’ll show you my favourite house. He looks older today, in his 50s, and a long, heavy coat and dark pants insulate him against the seeming chill. They walk a short while along what he says is Seedhill Road, Paisley, Scotland.  The impressive structure they soon reach is Kilnside House. He says it was built after he died, but it is one of his favourite houses in his second life. She is able to take in many of the features before a thunder clap wakes her for good. Later that day, I do some research and find out that the place was constructed in 1836, five years after Robert died, although it was eventually destroyed by fire in the mid-1990s. The grounds were then developed and an inevitable block of flats replaced the structure. He never lived there and neither did his family own it. I feel consoled that the building still exists in the adjacent place. Later, I find a 19th century photograph by Thomas Annan that closely matches April’s drawing.
